WhatsApp ‘Disappearing Messages’ Will Have 15 Additional Durations
WhatsApp is a popular messaging service owned by meta. In its early stage, it was accessible to smartphones but now can be used on various platforms like Desktop.
In 2020, WhatsApp added a disappearing message function that automatically permanently removes chat after a certain duration enabling users to control how long their messages are stored on the server and recipient’s device.
According to recent reports, the business is preparing to update this feature with new duration choices. Users will be benefited by having more control over the messages they send and receive.
WhatsApp Beta news (WABetaInfo) confirms that this new function is being developed in the latest beta update for WhatsApp Desktop and will soon be released.
Currently, the app supports only three durations for disappearing messages, including 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days.
However, the new updated feature will enable you to set 15 different durations, including one year, six months, two months, one month, 21 days, 14 days, 6 days, 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, 2 days, 12 hours, 6 hours, and 1 hour.
These several duration choices will be available in the “More options” menu.
Whereas, it’s still not confirmed that the expanded duration disappearing message feature will be accessible in the iOS and Android beta versions.
