SpaceX launches Falcon 9 Rocket carrying a 5-Ton Communication Satellite

On February 6, 2023, the Falcon 9 rocket of SpaceX company launched from Florida Space Force Station carrying a 5 tons weight of communication satellite named “Hispasat Amazonas Nexus,” built by Thales Alenia Space.

Once the communication satellite is operational in geostationary orbit, it will increase the coverage of a Spanish company, Hispasat, for North and South America, Greenland, and the Atlantic Ocean. It will also provide connection services in remote areas and to the facilitators of aerial and maritime connectivity.

Hispasat is a Spanish satellite communications provider that offers more than 1,250 television and radio channels to its 30 million subscribers. Its satellite fleet has nine operational satellites except for the Amazonas Nexus satellite.

According to Hispasat, the new fourth Amazonas Nexus satellite operating in space has innovative features and design that integrates Ku and Ka bands, increasing the capacity of the satellite for commercial usage. It will also continue to function for the next 15 years.

The SpaceX company is continuing its business as this was its ninth orbital launch of 2023, from which 8 were Falcon 9 and one Falcon Heavy. In the previous nine weeks, 16 SpaceX launches had taken place.
