OpenAI Introduces Advanced Text Features: GPT-3.5-turbo and GPT-4, with Reduced Pricing

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is upgrading its text-generating models and reducing prices in response to increasing competition in the AI Generative field.

The GPT-3.5-turbo and GPT-4 are new iterations of the OpenAI models. Function calling is a special feature of GPT-4 that enables programmers to specify programming functions to the models and provide associated code for execution.

By fine-tuning the models, OpenAI has enabled them to detect function calls and respond with structured data in JSON format, enhancing developers’ ability to obtain reliable results.

Additionally, GPT-4-32k-0613 offers improved comprehension of larger texts through an extended context length.

OpenAI plans to invite more users from the waitlist to test the features of GPT-4 in the coming weeks to remove the waitlist entirely eventually.

Furthermore, they have introduced GPT-3.5-turbo-16k, which offers four times the context length of its predecessor for $0.003 per 1K input tokens and $0.004 per 1K output tokens. This approach can support roughly 20 pages of text per request with a 16k context.

Regarding data security and privacy, OpenAI promises that users will retain ownership of all outputs produced as a result of their requests and that the API data won’t be used for training.

These measures ensure privacy and give customers peace of mind when utilizing the models.
