BlackBerry 5G smartphone with physical keyboard officially confirmed for launch again
After acquiring BlackBerry, OnwardMobility announced in the spring that it was developing a new BlackBerry phone with 5G and a physical keyboard. Although no such phone was released in 2021 the company has reaffirmed its promise. The US-based company claims it isn’t dead and plans to launch a 5G BlackBerry device in the coming year. Although the company claims that the delay in launching the device in 2021 was due to “various delays”, it promises to continue providing updates about the phone.
The upcoming 5G BlackBerry smartphone is unknown at this time. However, it is possible to expect a mid-range Qualcomm chipset based on previous releases. Although concept renderings of the phone are available, very little information is available about how it will look. It will likely retain the Key2 form factor, but with a modernized look. We will keep you informed.
