According Delta  Free Wi-Fi Coming to Many US Flights Next Month.

 

Delta Air Lines will provide free Wi-Fi access on all flights in its U.S. flights starting in February, Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian announced Thursday at the CES technology event.

Bastian stated that at the end of the year, Delta Connection will equip more than 700 aircrafts with high-speed broadband via satellite provided by T-Mobile. The company plans to extend the free Wi-Fi service to international and Delta Connection flights by the close of 2024. The service will utilize equipment that is provided by Viasat the U.S.-based satellite-based broadband provider.Many airlines are upgrading the internet connectivity on their aircrafts to ensure passengers are able to stay connected and stream content on their mobile devices, but they typically need to be charged for the service. New York-based JetBlue Airways offers complimentary Wi-Fi to its passengers however, Delta’s announcement places it ahead of its biggest competitors: American, United and Southwest.
